* Past tense
It is expressing an action that has happened in past.
* In the past tense, Only Did is used for simple past negative and Had in past perfect and past perfect continuous whether singular or plural.
* In past continuous was/ were are used.
Was: singular
Were: plural
* In the tenses, 2nd form is only used in simple past.
* Past indefinite
It is the action which cannot be express in present. The simple past tense of regular verbs is determined by ending d, ed, t.

Rule: Subject + 2nd form of verb + object
Example:He watched the film with me.
* Negative
Rule: Subject + did + not + 1formof verb + object
Exmaple:She did not play with us.
* Interrogative
Rule: Did + Subject + object
Example:Did it create noise?
* Interrogative negative
Rule:Did + Subject + not + object
Example:Did he not cry ever?
* Past continuous
It describes an action which began in past and is still going on. It expresses an incomplete action.
* Simple/Affirmative
Rule:Subject + was/were + verb + ing + object
Example: He was singing with me.
* Negative
Rule:Subject + was /were + not + verb + ing + object
Example: They were not teaching in my school.
* Interrogative
Rule:Was/were + Subject + verb + ing + object
Example:were you choosing this opinion?
* Interrogative negative
Rule:Was/were + Subject + not + verb + ing + object
Example: Was Rahul not proposing to her?
* Present perfect
It is the verb tense that had happened in the past and still that is not going on in present.

Example:Rahul had married her childhood friend.

Example: You had not disappointed him.
* Interrogative
Rule: Had + Subject + 3rd form of verb + object

* Present perfect continuous
It is used to express that time in which any action was being done with some specific time or time period.
Since is used with the specific time.
For is used with the flow of time.

Rule:Subject + had + not + been + verb +ing + object + since/for
Example:They had been chewing food for some time.
* Interrogative
