8 Parts of speech
Today, we are gonna study about part of speech. It is the basic part to understand the words and sentences. It is not so hard or so important but you should read and understand once. It is very helpful to improving your English. You don't need to learn this terms deeply but learn and understand as I wrote. So, let's get started.
These are very simple in form. You can learn these parts of speech in simpler way.
Noun
It is the name, place, person, animal and thing.
Examples:1Rahul is a decent boy.
Here, Rahul is a noun
2This ring is made up of gold.
Here, Ring is a noun.
Pronoun
The word which comes in place of an noun is called pronoun.
Examples: 1He is my best friend.
Here, He is a pronoun.
2They have seen my p.c.
Here, They is a pronoun
Adjective
Any word which qualifies a noun or pronoun.
Examples: 1He is an old person.
Here, old is an adjective because it describes a person.
2They are very strong.
Here, strong is an adjective.
Verb
It is a word which is used to describe an action and forming a Main part of a predicate of a sentence.
Example: 1You are playing in my garden.
Here, playing is a verb.
2I cried yesterday.
Here, cried is a verb.
Adverb
A word or phrase that modifies the meaning of and adjectibe, noun, place, time, manner.
Examples: 1He played beautifully.
Here, beautifully is a adverb.
2 Varun has done his interview very gently.
Here, very gently is a adverb.
Preposition
It is a word that helps the sentence making and making a sentence more powerful and without the use of preposition, we cannot make sense.
Example: 1 He is in best College.
Here, in is a preposition
2 she arrived after dinner.
Here, after is a preposition.
Conjunction
A word which is used to connect clauses or words, or sentences in the same clause.
Examples: 1You stand first beacuse you do hard work.
Here, because is a conjunction
2 They will help you if you help others.
Interjection
It is a sign or symbol to express feelings.
Examples: 1 Hurray! We have won that match.
Here, hurray! Is an interjection
2 Wow! That's a shocking news.
Here, wow! Is an interjection.
